Project Manager  –  ‘Ordinary’ need not apply

  • Cool projects
  • Amazing locations
  • Awesome team

Our current team, although small, is perfectly formed. We’ve been ‘doing what we do’ for 24 years and our staff are a bunch of talented and devoted people who get satisfaction from getting it right first time. Business is booming – and to ensure our clients get the quality and service we have become renowned for, we’re seeking a Christchurch based Project Manager to join the team.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing engineering projects – usually of a ‘difficult access’ nature – using whatever tools are right for the job. Sometimes that’s a paintgun and sometimes that’s explosives!
  • Your role in the projects will be split between on-site and office based work as you navigate the A-Z from initial site investigations through planning & pricing to supervising projects. No two projects are the same so you’ll be needing proven experience in project management and problem solving.
Responsibilities will also include developing and managing client relationships, all aspects of health & safety requirements and coordinating staff & contractors.
  • We’re also heavily involved in the Kaikoura recovery work so some input into this ongoing project may be required.

What do you need?

Excellent communication skills are a must!  You will be a pivotal part of the chain so it is essential that everyone is kept well informed! It would be great if you also had:

  • 2-3 years experience of project management within New Zealand.
  •  Background in engineering projects preferably with an engineering qualification
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • A sound work ethic
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of current safe working practices
  • Experience with AutoCAD software an advantage

Rope access & height safety experience isn’t necessary – what’s more important is your ability to think through technical challenges from multiple angles to come up with creative solutions to problems you didn’t even know existed!

What’s in it for you?

In return for your hard work and dedication you will receive an excellent remuneration package and the opportunity to do really cool work with great people. What more could you ask for?

If you think this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been waiting for – please apply online attaching your cv to kate@katiposolutions.co.nz. A paragraph about why you are the right person for the role wouldn’t go astray either!
